Ireland Form 11 Pay & File 2026: Mid-Year Prep After the August ROS Cluster
After August PAYE and VAT deadlines, Irish sole traders and directors should start Form 11 packs for Pay & File — 31 October 2026, or 18 November 2026 for ROS customers who both pay and file online (eBrief 034/26).
Mid-August cash-tax deadlines for PAYE and VAT 3 are the wrong moment to ignore Income Tax Pay & File. Revenue’s filing guidance and eBrief No. 034/26 confirm the 2025 Form 11 Pay and File date is Saturday 31 October 2026, with an extension to Wednesday 18 November 2026 for customers who both file the return and make the appropriate payments through ROS.
Starting evidence packs now — after July payroll and before September’s denser VAT and CT cluster — gives sole traders, landlords, and company directors time to close books without treating October as the first day of the project.
What must be paid and filed by the deadline
Under Pay and File, by the due date you generally pay preliminary tax for 2026, file the 2025 self-assessment tax return (Form 11), and pay any Income Tax balance for 2025. ROS customers who file the 2025 Form 11 and pay both the 2025 balance and 2026 preliminary tax through ROS get the 18 November extension.
eBrief 034/26 is explicit: if you only pay or only file through ROS, the extension does not apply and both return and payment must be in by 31 October 2026. Beneficiaries with Capital Acquisitions Tax valuation dates in the year ended 31 August 2026 who pay and file through ROS also use the 18 November date.
Mid-year prep checklist for sole traders and directors
Reconcile January–July bank feeds, invoices, and expense receipts while memories are fresh. Flag capital allowances candidates, motor and home-office claims, and any RCT, DWT, or PSWT certificates that must match Form 11 panels.
Directors should separate salary, benefits, and dividend evidence early so Form 11 does not collide with company CT1 work for December year-ends due 23 September. Landlords should keep rental schedules current even where MTD-style UK rules do not apply in Ireland.
Diary ROS payment capability before October. Paper or myAccount-only habits that miss the dual pay-and-file ROS requirement forfeit the November extension.
